After thoroughly evaluating your skin and explaining the treatment to you, your Aesthetician will begin by using a topical anesthetic on the treatment area to avoid discomfort.  Then, using the SkinPen, the Aesthetician will make a series of small pricks under the skin.  These are typically not visible after treatment.  The pricks put your body’s defenses into action, stimulating the production of collagen and other healing compounds, which, in turn, smooth the skin and add volume, producing a fresher, younger look.  After this part of the treatment, a soothing and healing serum will be applied.

While multiple sessions are recommended to achieve optimal microneedling results, noticeable changes are typically seen just one week following treatment and gradually improve as the body’s healing process promotes the production of healthy new cells and extracellular substances.  Patients with uneven skin tone and fine lines may see SkinPen® results after just one procedure, while those looking to soften the appearance of acne scarring may require a series of treatments.
